Project and Construction Management of 33 VPO in La Chanca (Almería) 2008

The building designed addresses the lack of existing public areas in the neighborhood, conceived as a large balcony towards La Alcazaba that stitches the existing urban fabric through a pedestrian passage. The public spaces designed, due to the steep slope of the plot, are formed as privileged viewpoints towards the fortress. The constructed block appears as a drawn contour of La Alcazaba itself, where the sequence of homes, portal accesses, and viewpoints recall the strength and solidity of its wall’s geometry. The community spaces acquire great relevance in the project since they have been designed with generous dimensions that favor interaction between neighbors through different activities.
