Museum of Science and Nature in Roquetas de Mar. Almería. 2007.
Our proposal focuses on the necessary recovery of the landscape and ecological-environmental values of the old Salinas de San Rafael. For that, the building, integrated by the Museum, Library and Water Garden, becomes a big built-up saline, a building-landscape that escapes from stridencies with the environment, highlighting the exceptional qualities of the area, like its privileged position in front of the Bay of Almeria. It adopts the simile of the saline, where a plate of water presides the roof of the building buried in a slight topography as a desert dune. A big water cover, which provide to the whole museum and which is pierced to generate a big courtyard full of light, the Water Garden.
