1st Prize in Contest
A covered public square: that was the initial idea of the project that has been maintained until the end. The elevated and privileged location at one of the entrances of Almería ensures this project a marked character as a viewpoint.
The body of the café terrace “flies” over the ground, providing a sense of weightlessness contrasted with the decisive gesture of the roof emerging from the ground. Under the name of an integration center, various different and complementary uses coexist and are reflected outside with different formalizations. Each use is translated into different isolated boxes that interact with each other under the imposing presence of the large roof that provides the necessary unity to the whole set.
