Based on the idea of Light and Sun included in the program as significant elements of the city of Almería, a sphere in stainless steel is generated as an abstraction of the sun, the ruling star in our solar system and an entity of vital importance on our planet.
The sun and light therefore constitute the leitmotif of the proposal. These characteristics of the place and universal at the same time are reflected in a set of inscriptions and carvings that show the words Light and Sun in different languages, cut out in the sheet, dematerializing the volume that makes up the sphere, and thus achieving a weightless element with almost magical balance.
The sphere is scaled to the proportion of the human being thus endowing it with a clear humanistic vocation and therefore hospitable towards the inhabitants of the world who arrive in the Almerian capital.
