The refurbishment of the “Tierras de Oria” Juvenile Detention Centre involves a complex of detached pavilions, preserving their original layout and relationship with the existing outdoor spaces.
The intervention retains the architectural configuration and natural lighting, focusing on upgrading building services and improving fire safety.
Circulation routes remain operational throughout the phased construction works, while technical systems are reorganised and fire detection, suppression and compartmentation measures are enhanced in high-risk areas.
The refurbishment includes the replacement of suspended ceilings, electrical wiring and fire protection systems, improving maintenance efficiency and ensuring compliance with current building regulations.
