Project and Construction Management of Social Center in El Cercado (Huércal de Almería) 2004

The building consists of a single open-plan ground floor where the center’s activities take place and has a series of annexed facilities of office, bar, and toilet. A large window separates the main hall from the backyard, unfolding in an organic form in contrast with the rest of the rational layout. This transparent separation creates an effect of spatial dilation of the room towards the exterior. In this way, the interior-exterior concept is blurred, claiming the outdoors and sunlight as part of the inner center.
