Based on the idea of light and sun included in the specifications as significant elements of the city of Almería, a stainless steel sphere is created as an abstract form of the Sun; the prevailing star in our Solar System and vitally important for our planet.

The sun and light therefore constitute the leitmotif of the proposal. The characteristic features of the location, which are universal at the same time, are reflected in a series of inscriptions and engravings that show the words Light and Sun in different languages. These are cut into the steel plating, dematerializing the block that makes up the sphere and therefore achieving an engraved object with almost magical equilibrium.

The sphere is scaled in proportion to a human being, thus providing it with a clear humanist and therefore hospitable vocation for people from all over the world who come to the capital of Almería.
