Bailén Health Center

2nd Prize in Competition.

The design is conceived as a whole, a single building, a fold; an almost origamic exercise that incorporates all the functioning areas independently. The building is structured into transversal strips or sections that cross over each other through a network of longitudinal courtyards and common spaces that are used for waiting and staff breaks and always in visual reference to the surrounding urban context. This makes use of the building’s transparency and includes the surrounding environment within it. The inclusion of the courtyards gives rhythm and order to the project, clarifying the spaces for the visitor, as well as providing light and creating an open space with great visual clarity, with the intention of providing a certain level of comfort for users during their stay.
