Project of 33 Subsidised Housing in la Chanca (Almería) 2008
The designed building responds to the lack of existing public areas in the neighborhood, posing as a large balcony towards the Alcazaba that sew the existing urban plot through a pedestrian crossing. The public spaces designed, due to the high unevenness of the plot, conform as privileged viewpoints towards the fort. The built block appears as a contour drawn from the Alcazaba iin which the sequence of dwellings, access to portals and viewpoints recall the power and rotundez of the geometry of its walls. The community spaces acquire great importance in the project, since they have been designed with generous dimensions that favor the relationship between neighbors through the accomplishment of different activities.
