1st Prize in Technical Proposal
The conceptual idea in this work is based on two interlocked volumes of rational and functional design, with a distinction in texture and layout. The wooden piece allows for controlling and channeling the flow of public visits from the main lobby to the large connection space of the courts. The wooden box, in turn, delineates the more public uses of the building such as the Civil Registry and Wedding Halls. The connection between the two levels is achieved through an inclined plane, providing a fluid and direct connection, bringing the upper level of courts closer to the building’s main lobby. The large concrete volume is conceived as a solid and hermetic box where light will hold special importance.
