5 projects by Ferrer Arquitectos.

LIGHT in the Moisés Ruiz Pavilion, the Shelters, Los Almendros, a Health Center, and the PITÁGORAS was the common thread in the presentation of these 5 projects that José Ángel Ferrer carried out at the ETSA in Granada on October 19 and that are collected in the book “Luminous Atmospheres” published by LAMPREAVE.

In addition, Alejandro Muñoz Miranda, Ángel Martínez García-Posada, and Antonio Cayuelas Porras, all professors at the School of Architecture of Granada, participated.

Muñoz Miranda presented the event and gave a brief overview of Ferrer’s work.

García-Posada related how Ferrer’s architecture is rooted in the Almeria landscape, establishing connections with cinematography or sociology.

Cayuelas highlighted the importance of light in Ferrer’s work and how it acquires a special imprint in the projects presented.

Finally, Ferrer spoke about how LIGHT was the leitmotif of the 5 projects presented, generating different luminous atmospheres that position users in a specific emotional state.

He also explained the different ways in which LIGHT is introduced into buildings and the reasons behind these project decisions.

He spoke of different types of light: humid, dry, solid, diffuse, sweet, or vibrant, among others, and how each space requires its LIGHT and, at the same time, how each type of LIGHT gives each space qualities that make it unique.
