On May 27, 2016, as part of the conference on Sports Architecture organized by V\u00eda Arquitectura in Madrid, Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Ferrer gave a lecture on some sports projects by Ferrer Arquitectos: the Mois\u00e9s Ruiz Pavilion, the \u201cEgo Sport Center\u201d, and the El Toyo Golf School. After the conference, there was a lively debate between the audience and all the speakers of the day, where Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Ferrer made a harsh critique of the current procedures for awarding projects through competitions, both public and private, where the economic offer has excessive weight and where the architectural criteria, building operation, or solvency of the team, have less and less importance.
