Sustainability Conference at PITA<\/p>\n
Last November 26th, a conference on sustainable architecture was held at the headquarters of PITA (Almer\u00eda Science-Technology Park) with the collaboration of the College of Architects and the attendance as speakers, among others, of: Oscar Mart\u00ednez (Director of BREEAM Spain), Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Ferrer (Architect and Main Partner of Ferrer Arquitectos) and Pedro Segu\u00ed (Architect and Head of Sustainability of Ferrer Arquitectos).<\/p>\n
The conference dealt with the different organizations that certify sustainability in buildings, such as BREEAM, where Ferrer Arquitectos is part of its Advisory Council in Spain, and LEED.<\/p>\n
Oscar Mart\u00ednez spoke about the characteristics of BREEAM, the building sustainability certification organization with the highest number of certified buildings in the world.<\/p>\n
Jos\u00e9 \u00c1ngel Ferrer spoke about the importance of incorporating sustainability criteria in projects to obtain more efficient and comfortable buildings for their users, using as an example the headquarters of PITA and TECNOVA. He emphasized that sustainability is inherent to good architecture from its origins and that the novelty today is that sustainability can be certified with organizations such as BREEAM or LEED.<\/p>\n
Pedro Segu\u00ed spoke about the importance that Ferrer Arquitectos gives to sustainability with the creation of a specific area, for which he is responsible, within the company and about some details of the process for obtaining sustainable certification from BREEAM or LEED in buildings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
